If we are talking about the legal employment of foreigners in Poland, it is essential to realize that legal employment consists of two mandatory elements: the legal stay of the foreigner in Poland (the so-called ‘residence permit,’ i.e., a document legalizing the foreigner’s stay on the territory of the Republic of Poland) and the possibility of legally taking up work (i.e., a document legalizing the foreigner’s employment). Without fulfilling both of these conditions, there can be no question of the legal performance of work by a foreigner in Poland.
