Unjustified or unlawful termination of a contract of mandate

A contract of mandate may be terminated at any time by either party, the ordering party or the contractor, which means it takes effect immediately. Upon termination, the ordering party is obliged to reimburse the expenses incurred by the contractor in order to fulfil the mandate and to pay the portion of the remuneration due for the work completed so far. However, assuming that the termination was not justified by an important reason, the initiating party will be required to compensate for the resulting “damage.”
